We didn't actually overspend our budget. The allocation simply fell short of our expenditure.

Effective Financial Scrutinity: The Role of Parliament in Public Finance

 

 

Thank you for your interest in the Parliament and The Budget Module! While the course content will always be available on this website for all interested learners, the moderated course will bring learners from around the world together to discuss and share about parliament and the budget. This kind of interchange allows participants to learn not just the course content, but to familiarize yourselves with the content more dynamically, and to learn best practices from each other's experiences.

Course Description: This moderated course, equivalent to 5 days (40 hours) of classroom training, will start January 19, 2009 and will last for approx. 6 weeks. Topics covered include

  • Introducing the budget;
  • The budget process;
  • Parliamentary approval of the budget;
  • The audit of public accounts; and
  • Opening up the parliamentary involvement.
